Located near Charlottesville in Crozet Virginia, King Family Vineyards is seeking an Associate Winemaker.

The position requires a mixture of hands-on work, organisation, laboratory skills, attention to detail, and cleanliness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Assist and support Winemaker with the technical and stylistic decisions necessary to produce the highest quality wines.
•  Generate work orders related to all winemaking activities
•  Coordinate and participate in all day-to-day cellar operations, including crushing and processing during harvest, barreling, blending, clarifying, aging, filtering, sanitation, cellar organization and cleanliness, and lab analysis.
•  Participate in wine tastings, blending sessions throughout the year.
•  Contribute to improving the overall process of winemaking.

Desired Skills & Experience Requirements include:
•  Must be familiar with cellar workflow management. Custom crush winery experience is a plus.
•  Highly skilled in "hands-on" cellar operations and familiar with a wide variety of equipment and winemaking practices.
•  Skilled in sensory evaluation including identifying wine flaws.
•  Has experience with work-order management. Experience with vintrace is a plus.
•  Possess strong organizational, team building, and problem solving skills, with attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
•  Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; work on and around ladders, catwalks, uneven flooring, in hot, cold and wet environments; with typical winery chemical exposure and conditions.
•  Available to work a varied schedule during harvest season as needed.
•  Bachelor's degree in Enology, viticulture, biochemistry or related field
•  Three years of winery production experience.
•  Must be eligible and approved for work in the United States

Wage Transparency:
The base salary for this role ranges from $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience and skills.
