2024 Harvest Intern - Paso Robles - Levo Vineyard

Levo Wine

Paso Robles, CA

Job Description:

Levo Wine - http://www.levowine.com

Levo is a small premium, artisan Rhone producer, with a vineyard planted in the heart of willow creek. We’re looking for hard working Harvest Interns for the 2024 vintage. We are expecting to crush about 50 tons (~3,000 cases) this year. You would work as part of a small crew that participates in all aspects of harvest operations as listed below. Please have a massive work ethic if applying as the work is long and intense, yet rewarding and fun. Great resumes, past experience and college degrees are always a huge bonus, BUT not necessarily needed. We are perhaps more motivated by attitude, work ethic and passion for the craft.

This is a seasonal position from approximately Mid August through Mid November.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing a variety of cellar/vineyard operations including but not limited to:
Vineyard sampling (off-site)
Grape receival and sorting
Wine/must movements
Cap management: punch-downs, pump-overs, delestages (rack and return)
Fermentation monitoring: inoculations, additions, brix and temperature reading
Barrel activities (cleaning, filling, emptying)
Equipment and tank sanitation
There will be ample training, inclusion in tastings, exposure to the duties within the winery, and explanation of our practices and why we do them.

SCHEDULE
During active harvest expect to work six days a week; we always make sure you get at least one day off, and we usually do not crush on the weekends so those are usually lighter, shorter days. During the week we try to keep the days to 10-12 hr days (normal overtime rules apply; 1.5 times pay after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week). We will also make sure to provide you with lunch on busy days (fruit processing and pressing days)

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be reliable, on-time, outgoing, engaged, and interested
Clear commitment to high quality and attention to details
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Effective communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
