Yamhill Valley Vineyards is a family owned and operated 150-acre estate located in the rolling foothills just outside McMinnville. Established in 1983, we are the oldest winery in the McMinnville AVA, and the second oldest vineyard. We grow, produce, and bottle Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling, all 100% from our estate. Our amiable Tasting Room is located in the heart of it all and is open year-round for wine experiences with vineyard views, relaxing under the oak trees, and enjoying the riches of the estate.

We are seeking a dynamic, curious, motivated individual to join our team as our Tasting Room Ambassador. This will be a hybrid position responsible for outbound sales, hosting and leading wine tasting experiences and tours, developing customer relationships, and ensuring that guests have fun, educational, memorable experiences. The Tasting Room Ambassador must have a passion for wine, proven capabilities in sales, strong hospitality and customer service skills, be detail oriented, love building relationships and telling stories.

Essential duties:

Outbound Sales:
- Perform outbound sales and emails to customers.
- Communicate with Wine Club Members regarding details and updates.
- Work with the Direct Sales Manager to create segmented customer lists for targeted sales.
- Maintain detailed notes in POS for customer management.
- Tailor wine offers to customers based on preferences and company goals.
- Offer upsells on incoming telesales and ecommerce orders.
- Process and pack orders.
- Provide customer service for reservations, questions, feedback.

Lead Wine Tasting Experiences:
- Host and lead groups of guests on wine tasting experiences in the vineyard and in the cellar.
- Ongoing learning and education of winery history, storytelling, winemaking, and viticulture.
- Perform and process sales associated with experiences.
- Collect and maintain customer contact information and preferences.

Tasting Room Operations and Support:
- Proficiently operate POS software for sales, inventory, and customer management.
- Serve wine for guest experiences.
- Provide knowledge and storytelling of vineyards, winemaking, and history.
- Process online and phone orders.
- Ability to lead tours and host large groups.
- Charcuterie preparation and service.
- Stock Tasting Room inventory.
- Stock shelves and display wines and merchandise.
- Present and sign up Wine Club Members.
- Provide services and assistance for Wine Club Members.
- Assist with events – on and off site.
- Assist customers with transporting wine to their vehicles.
- Daily cleaning and upkeep of Tasting Room and outdoor areas.
- Use of Tock for reservations.
- Answer the phone and direct calls.
- Move and store outdoor furniture.
- Other direct sales activities as needed.

Qualifications:
- 2-3 years experience in wine sales.
- Strong public speaking and communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Ability to be responsive, flexible, and manage changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must hold or be able to obtain OLCC Server’s Permit.
- Must hold or be able to obtain Food Handler’s License.
- Flexibility in work schedule with availability in evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Ability to stand, lift, sit, and walk for 6-8 hours per day.
- Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, Microworks POS, Tock.
