ABOUT THE JOB

Wilson Daniels is seeking a highly motivated Demand Planning Manager that has experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the right end to end Operations planning strategies, processes, sales and inventory are in place to support business and customer needs. This position is also accountable to drive comprehensive operations business metrics and ensures alignment of operation strategies with regional business strategies.

The Demand Planning Manager is accountable for end-to-end operations excellence, inventory and service levels and setting priorities & direction for Wilson Daniels’ distribution network. The Demand Planning Manager will report and work with the Director of Operations to investigate out-of-stocks, analyze sales trends, and prepare reports for inventory reviews. The role will develop relationships with Sales management, suppliers and other outside vendors.

THE DAY-TO DAY

Develop accurate and timely demand forecast while reducing inventory/working capital and minimizing forecast variability for distributor partners.
Understand and resolve known supply constraints or excess inventory risks and communicate to teams in the distributor demand planning channel.
Ensure consistency of distributor forecast assumptions across entire wholesale groups including base business trends, promotional plans, cannibalization of new launches, seasonal volume.
Analyze historical sales data and future plans.
Work cross-functionality to achieve continuous improvement in demand forecast accuracy.
Improve overall demand plan on behalf of distributor network.
Prepare written analyses, documentation, reports or other data using Microsoft Suite and Power BI and/or other systems.
Work with internal operations team members to resolve supply issues or develop alternate sourcing strategies.
Responsible for developing Distributor Inventory Strategy Process, ensuring the establishment of target inventory levels by SKU and mix to achieve management objectives for service levels, backorder incidence/duration and inventory.
Work closely with distribution team to optimize inventory levels based on warehousing capacity and cost.
Oversee distributor aging and hold inventory by working closely with the distributor’s logistics and quality teams. Management of Slow Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) inventory.
Develop and maintain KPIs, including forecast variance, forecast bias, Back Order, OTIF, Inventory, and Forecast Accuracy, on behalf of distributor.
Proactively communicate potential supply issues with the product supply with appropriate brand planning, demand planner and internal operations team members while leading issue resolution.
Communicate new product introductions to business units as required.
Standardize the process for reporting information, such as dashboards and ensuring that the right level of information is available to key stakeholders.
Ensure business continuity for the projects that require planning preparation (e.g. seasonal build ups, contingencies associated to demand volatility and unforeseen conditions, etc.)
Participate, actively drive, and champion adoption of newly implemented systems, procedures and tools.
Manage and ensure continuity of the entire procurement process from initiating purchase orders until receipt (start to finish), expediting orders with internal and external partners to ensure on time delivery and defined inventory safety stock levels.
Oversee the logistics of deliveries, ensuring smooth flow from order to receiving.
Source and manage purchase orders with distributor partners.
Proactively analyze inventory levels and identify slow-moving items. You'll be the partner the sales team needs to adapt to current trends.
AM I THE RIGHT FIT?

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field
APICS/CPIM certifications a plus
Experience:

3-5 years of relevant business experience within Supply Chain Planning
Industry experience a plus
Skills/Traits:

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and MS Outlook.
Demonstrated success in Supply, Demand, and Inventory Planning is required.
Strong knowledge of ERP inventory, planning, purchasing and cost systems and implementation of such in a global environment - Microsoft Business Central preferred.
Knowledge and experience of managing transportation and logistics is a plus.
Strong demonstrated history of problem solving using analytical techniques.
Lean Six Sigma exposure is a plus.
Possess well-developed communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to be able to build strong work relationships with all levels of the organization.
Have the ability to synthesize information and create a clear synopsis of key issues.
