Job Description:

Founded in 2014, Lavinea is an artisanal wine producer committed to becoming a benchmark for wines of place in the Willamette Valley, crafting wines that represent the purest voice of site-specific terroir from each of our vineyards. Our highly acclaimed wines are sold primarily DTC, with some domestic and international distribution. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable wine educator to join our hospitality and sales team. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and motivated wine professional who is skilled at promoting wine sales through exceptional customer service, hospitality, and authentic, compelling storytelling. You will be working in an environment that is comfortably genuine, welcoming of your input, transparent, and focused on improving each and every day.

Key Responsibilities (additional responsibilities may be added over time):
•  Deliver an outstanding guest experience to all customers in our tasting room.
•  Craft memorable tasting experiences, sharing our brand story, taking our guests on a deep dive through the vineyards and vintages.
•  Effectively communicate a deep understanding of Lavinea’s winemaking practices, in addition to common practices within the wider wine industry.
•  Expand wine club membership through effective storytelling and impeccable hospitality.
•  Capture and input guest data into CRM (Commerce7)
•  Perform daily tasting room tasks, including but not limited to: opening, tasting and pouring wines; setting up reserved tastings; corresponding with customers in person, over email and by phone; correctly completing transactions while ensuring proper inventory management; packing and labeling shipping orders; and setting up new reservations using Tock.
•  Maintain clean facilities, which includes polishing glassware, vacuuming, general daily housekeeping and correctly following closing duty guidelines.
•  Act as an ambassador of Lavinea by building relationships with our industry peers, promoting referrals to our tasting room.

Minimum Qualifications:
•  Able to work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings and holidays.
•  Excellent communication skills, and closely networked with local wine industry hospitality professionals.
•  Broad knowledge of, and preferably experience with old and new world wines with specific knowledge of the Oregon wine industry.
•  Industry Accreditation (WSET, Court of MS, CSW, CWE) not required, but a plus.
•  Thorough knowledge of the service industry, have a strong sales and customer experience background.
•  Demonstrates integrity and honesty, an exceptional work ethic, and is personally accountable.
•  Well organized, with emphasis on keeping accurate data and guest/member profiles.
•  Highly proficient in PC/Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Commerce7 or other Wine POS experience a plus.
•  Ability to quickly master fulfillment software.
•  Activities required include standing, walking, regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
•  Over 21 years of age with OLCC Server Permit.

Compensation is $23 to $26 per hour (DOE), plus gratuities, CRU enrollment bonuses and generous employee discount.
