Location: Port Washington, NY (Hybrid –3 Days in Office)



Position Overview: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will lead planning, review, traceability, and analysis of brand specific financial plans and results. This position will be responsible for taking ownership of the commercial go-to-market strategic plan, budget, operating cadence, and serve as a key business partner and advisor to the executive team for commercial finance insights. While the VP, Commercial Finance will be centered around the finance team, he/she will also serve as support and consultant for Portfolio and Marketing teams, including the participation in supplier meetings, to provide financial strategic and commercial insights to brand strategy plans and ideas.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees annual planning process, focusing on financial forecasting, annual budgeting, strategic plans, long range plans, and provides strategic financial support for key commercial leaders, ensuring revenue objectives and brand budgets are determined in alignment with market and internal trends.
Ensures that all brand building investments reflect company guidance, are set to generate desired ROI, and reflect the most effective use of budgets, based on market dynamics and brand performance.
Tracks progress against agreed upon targets by reviewing monthly financial close and related management reporting and metrics.
Oversees pricing management team, ensuring adherence to guidelines, and identifies opportunities to increase ROI on depletion allowances.
Takes the lead in reporting details and provides guidance on evaluation of ROI on marketing spends and effectiveness of promotional spends.
Leads the executive reviews with key leadership to drive commercial and business insights on current and future business trends and provides recommendations to develop and sustain growth of the portfolio.
Analyze business trends, identify opportunity areas and measure financial impacts.
Becomes the trusted advisor of the leadership teams with key decisions and influences other functional areas (e.g., Sales, Finance, and Marketing).
Leads the effective reallocation of available budgets providing recommendations to Portfolio and Sales, based off key levers/drivers, product pricing, marketing, and the brand’s competitive advantage strategy.

Competencies:

Exceptional Excel skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent working knowledge of all tiers of the wines and spirits industry
Proven ability to lead teams

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in finance required; MBA preferred.
Experience in the wine and spirits industry required.
Background in accounting preferred
Must be detailed, organized, and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Confidence with technology, e.g.: Microsoft Office Suite, business intelligence software, iDig.
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects.
•  Ability to work independently and in a dynamic, high energy, team-oriented atmosphere.

Salary Range: $180,000-200,000/year.
