In addition to our own production, Van Duzer is producing wine for custom crush clients with the aim to grow our custom crush production over the coming years. This role will include assisting clients and to provide an excellent customer service experience for them.

We are looking for a candidate who is excited about a growth opportunity in their career. The ideal candidate will have a true desire to make excellent wine, be reliable, have good attention to detail, be self-motivated, and bring a positive attitude to their work.

Primary Duties:
•  Ensure cellar staff is properly trained in winery standard operating protocols and all cellar staff are adhering to set protocols.
•  Be responsible for safety meetings and ensure that the cellar staff is following safety protocols.
•  Maintain a clean and organized cellar.
•  Maintain up to date inventory of all cellar vessels and supplies.
•  Perform basic equipment repair tasks in a timely fashion.
•  Keep detailed records of maintenance and ensure all winery equipment stays in working order.
•  Perform and accurately record basic lab analysis including: pH, Free SO2, heat stability trials, malic acid analysis.
•  Be responsible for organized and timely completion of work orders and entering of work orders if needed.
•  All winemaking duties as required: fruit receival, crushing, pressing, racking, barrel filling, topping, additions, filtration, bottling, forklifting activities, and cleaning.

Requirements
•  3 years of previous full-time cellar experience, ideally with some management experience.
•  Forklift certification and proficiency.
•  Demonstrate a high commitment to quality.
•  Be self-motivated to complete assigned tasks under a deadline.
•  Ability to be flexible with work schedule during harvest.
•  Basic understanding of Excel and Word.
•  Have problem solving skills.
•  Physically fit, with the ability to lift 50 pounds.
•  Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet environments.
•  Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
•  A degree in Viticulture and Enology is a plus but not required.
•  Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
•  Have a positive outlook at work!
