Position Summary

Williams Selyem is searching for a Tasting Salon Host & Wine Educator. All applicants must be available to work weekends, holidays and special events, and be able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 40 pounds (a case of wine). Must be a natural with customer service and competent with a variety of computer programs.
Main responsibilities include: Tasting Salon opening and closing duties, conducting private tours of the facility, educating consumers, wine sales, converting new guests to List Members, inventory, and maintaining a clean & welcoming Tasting Salon.

Candidate Description

The ideal candidate for this position should:

•  Have a passion for wine, food and hospitality.
•  Have a background in high-end wine and/or luxury goods sales.
•  Display a professional, articulate, friendly, patient attitude, and are naturally wired to provide excellent customer service.
•  Have a strong work-ethic in an independent environment while displaying attention to detail.
•  Be comfortable talking about and educating our consumers on the topics of viticulture, oenology, coopering, the history of wine, and the history of the wine industry as it relates to Sonoma County.
•  Enjoy anticipating and responding to both the expressed and unexpressed wishes and needs of our guests.
•  Have a passion and natural ability to build lasting relationships that will distinguish Williams Selyem in our guest’s hearts and minds.
•  Be a supportive team player who will do whatever it takes to complete the job with integrity.
•  Displays a professional appearance at all times.
•  Proven ability to multi-task, plan, organize, work under pressure, and prioritize effectively.



Duties and Responsibilities

•  Provide a superior customer experience and solidify existing customer relationships through hospitality tours and tastings.
•  Assist guests with their wine and retail purchasing decisions, including order entry and packing orders.
•  Inform guests of how our Allocation List works, acquire new List Members, and collect guest data and preferences.
•  Assist with opening and closing duties.
•  Tasting Room inventory management and tour reports.
•  Assist with the set up and break down of all private experiences.
•  Washes, polishes and shines glassware when necessary.
•  Customer service via telephone and email.
•  Create and maintain customer profiles in our CRM system.
•  Assist with management and organization of all hospitality supplies.
•  Assist with the cleanliness of the Estate and the bathrooms.
•  Occasionally assist with Special Events on and off-property.
•  Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

•  High School Diploma
•  Must be able to work weekends and holidays
•  Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 40 lbs.
•  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
