Job Description:

Position Summary:
Works directly with winemaking, laboratory, and cellar staff to meet the quality standards of juices and wines. This role will support Kenwood Vineyards and Mumm Winemaking Operations. This may include but not limited to the following: Participates in daily fermentation evaluations, oversees Scalehouse operations, supports/maintains winemaking workorders and database system, and support selective fruit processing line. This position requires the ability to work extended hours, specifically during the Harvest season. This position requires the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
•  Supports Mumm and Kenwood Winemakers with off-site logistics:
•  Receiving juice
•  Monitor fermentations.
•  Support – selective (optical sorter) fruit processing as needed.
•  Participate with Winemaking in daily evaluation of fermentations.
•  Attend daily harvest planning and fruit receiving meeting.
•  Generate and process work orders as needed.
•  Act as a Scalehouse Lead – supports operator(s) with training, troubleshooting weigh-tags as needed.
•  Assist in fruit receiving and pressing operations as needed.
•  Supporting winemakers in harvest intake management, bottling operations as needed

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
•  Advanced MS Office skills
•  Understanding of the fundamentals of winemaking operations and technology
•  Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
•  Good math and analytical skills
•  Excellent organizational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
•  Strong multi-tasking and time management skills required.
•  Ability to make independent judgments in a high pace environment. Must be prepared for interruptions and changes in job priorities, ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines. Work can be repetitious in nature at times, with a high demand for speed, accuracy and precision.


Desirable:
•  BS in Fermentation Science or Enology or related field.
•  Previous cellar and winery lab experience preferred.
•  Bi-lingual skills a plus


Special Conditions:
•  Some out of hours work may be required;
•  Travel to other Pernod Ricard winery sites as required;
•  Current driver’s license.
•  Work is performed in a typical field environment with moderate demands for movement and lifting.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay scale offered for this position is $19.00 - $24.00 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The Company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
