Job Description:

In 2023, Balsall Creek launched with our first offerings to our avid following of wine enthusiasts. We also officially broke ground on the Balsall Creek Tasting Room on Calkins Lane in Newberg, Oregon. Our building and design teams are hard at work, aiming to have our doors officially open to the public in April 2024. We are looking for organized, self-motivated, results-driven individuals to deliver our brand message and present our wines. We are in search of driven, energetic people with infectious personalities to grow advocacy with our guests. Reporting to the Director of Hospitality, the Part-time Tasting Room Associate plays an integral role in the success of the tasting room team.

Responsibilities

•  Greets guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
•  Presents wine information and brand messaging with confidence and credibility.
•  Educates guests on the estate vineyard and varietals planted.
•  Hosts vineyard tours and educated guests on farming practices.
•  Hosts formal seated private tastings.
•  Manage daily reservations and set-up and break-down of daily tasting room operations.
•  Actively sells wine and wine club memberships to meet and exceed established business goals.
•  Accurately processes wine orders and customer information via POS system (Commerce 7). Prior POS knowledge is a plus.
•  Ensures opening and closing duties are completed and performed in a timely manner.
•  Assists with private events both on and off-site.
•  Actively contributes to tasting room procedures and brings forth new ideas for sales success.
•  Creates strong relationships with winery partners such as local wineries and hotels.
•  Performs inventory management duties.
•  Continues to increase knowledge of the wine and the wine industry.
•  General maintenance of the sales floor and customer areas.
•  Additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:
•  21+ years of age.
•  Have or obtain OLCC certification.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•  High School Diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
•  Experience in hospitality and/or service positions.
•  Hospitality-driven with a focus on providing guests with an exceptional service.
•  Ability to multitask and problem-solve effectively and efficiently.
•  Must be comfortable with entertaining and hosting multiple groups at once.
•  Ability to stand or walk 6+ hours per day.
•  Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
•  Ability to consistently lift 45 pounds.
•  Organize and maintain a clean and efficient environment.
•  Interact and effectively work with fellow team members in a professional manner.
