Cider Maker/ Operations Manager
Wild Cider, a full production hard cider facility, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Cidermaker/Operations Manager. This position will provide an ideal learning environment for the aspiring cidermaker, as the successful candidate will be exposed to the fast growing world of Hard Cidermaking, and Orchard Management.
Performs all lab analysis, and train and supervises cellar staff. Accurately reports all analysis, and manages cidermaking database and excel spreadsheets. Perform all duties required from starting fermentation to final blending and packaging
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works under minimal supervision to perform and document lab tests year round to ensure maximum cider quality and accurate inventories.
Maintains the lab and Warehouse/Cidery in general including supplies, inventories, standard operating procedures and equipment.
Accurately reports all analysis and winery operations including data entry in Winemaker’s Database and excel spreadsheets.
Manage day to day operations including: Blending Cider, filtration, Kegging/canning, manage fermentations, and maintain strict sanitation.
•Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related field or equivalent, or experience in winery lab/winery/cidery.
•Passion and commitment to Cidermaking and cider appreciation essential.
•Skilled in MS office and database applications.
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
•Ability to work independently and as a member of a hardworking and extraordinarily dedicated cidermaking team.
Ability to Manage a team of workers.
Ability to make repairs and maintain cidery equipment.
•Lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance
•Climb a ladder to a height of at least (but not limited to) 15 feet
•Walk, bend and climb stairs without discomfort or impairment
•Stand for sustained periods of time
•Wear appropriate safety equipment as required by state and/or federal law
