Martin Ray Winery is a Russian River Valley winery specializing in a diverse array of wines that are showcased through two labels. We crush approximately 2,500 tons, and produce everything from Russian River Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, to Stags Leap and Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon. We are a small team, geared toward maintaining quality at every level.
Martin Ray Winery is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our winemaking team for the 2014 harvest. These individuals will have direct contact with our entire production staff, as well as our Winemaking team.
Harvest Interns will assist the production and winemaking staff with all harvest-related activities. This can include but not limited to:
• Sanitization of Tanks, Presses, Hoses, and other Winery equipment.
• Pumpovers and punch downs
• Draining, shoveling and pressing of tanks.
• Chemical additions
• Yeast and ML inoculations, nutrient additions
• Barrel work and Topping.
• Assist full time crew with receiving fruit; crushing/destemming
• Wine movements (rackings, transfers).
• General winery cleaning
We are looking for hard working candidates, with a positive attitude and ability to multitask in a busy environment. The perfect applicant should be able to pay close attention to detail, committed to quality and passionate about wine! Previous Harvest experience preferred, but not a must. Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Shift work and overtime required. Ability to read and follow work orders in English. Must work safely around moving equipment and electricity. Forklift abilities helpful but not required. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is also required.
