Santa Cruz area winery seeks skilled cellar worker to join team of highly motivated and passionate individuals. Winery focuses on producing premium quality SCM and Monterey County wines. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, grape processing, cellar cleaning and sanitation, racking barrels, additions, filtering wine with crossflow filter, fermentation management, cellar equipment maintenance, forklift driving, bottling line work and barrel cleaning. Must be willing and able to perform all tasks in a clean, efficient and safe manner. Other duties as assigned by manager. Cellar experience preferred. Ideal candidate will be able to work in a team or as an individual, depending on task. Looking for someone who is interested in the whole winemaking process from grape to glass.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong math skills.
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Cellar experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, move/roll barrels, work flexible and sometimes long hours including weekends during harvest season, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, walk, kneel, bend, smell and taste. Work in warm weather outdoors and cool temperatures indoors. Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise levels.
