Pear Valley Estate Winery, a sustainable family owned winery located in Paso Robles Geneseo District. We are looking for a dynamic harvest intern for our 2024 harvest. The winery produces 100% estate grown Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhone and Italian varietals from two vineyards. This is an opportunity to work directly with the Winemaker and Assistant Winemaker, as we tackle every aspect of winemaking.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

•  Winery and equipment sanitization
•  Crushing, sorting, pressing
•  Cap management (pumpovers, punchdowns and delestages)
•  Additions and inoculations
•  Draining and pressing
•  Barrel cleaning, filling and topping
•  Equipment preparation and maintenance
•  Wine racking and transfers
•  Vineyard work - Canopy management

We are seeking candidates who are organized, quality-oriented, reliable, have the ability to follow detailed procedures, work independently as well as within a team, and communicate clearly and directly with supervisors. We value reliability, honesty, a strong work ethic, and must have a good sense of humor!

Requirements:

•  Work extended hours and possible weekends. Likely 40/week.
•  Must be able to lift 50lbs.
•  The ability to do frequent physical labor, bending, and ascend/descend stairs with a load
•  The ability to work in hot and cold environments (indoors and outdoors)
•  Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, be currently eligible to work in the US, provide for their own housing, and possess reliable means of transportation
•  Prior crush experience and industry education is preferred, but not required.
•  Forklift experience is also preferred, but not required.

The position will start mid- August and likely wrap up by mid-November. Compensation determined on prior experience.
