Vineyard Professional Services, the 2018 Winegrape Grower of the Year is Expanding
PASO ROBLES, CA (September 6, 2018) – Vineyard Professional Services Inc (VPS), a Paso Robles-based vineyard management company announces expansion into Santa Barbara County with the promotion and hiring of vineyard managers.
Ivan Gonzales, has been promoted to the oversight of several of the company's elite west-side Paso Robles ranches and winery estates. Gonzales joined VPS in February of 2018 and has been managing properties in Greenfield and southern Monterey County. Gonzales was previously a vineyard manager for Clark Vineyard Management in St. Helena. His experience managing winery estates on Howell Mountain and throughout Napa County helped solidify his winegrowing knowledge. He is excited to return to the Central Coast after post-college work in Santa Barbara County for Premier Pacific Vineyards.
Vic Guerrero, a Central Coast native, joined VPS this month and further builds on the company's experience base in Santa Rita Hills and Edna Valley viticulture. Vic's role as a vineyard manager at Coastal Vineyard Services in Arroyo Grande and Coastal Vineyard Care in Buellton will aid VPS's expansion of full-service management opportunities into Santa Barbara County after years of consulting for area wineries.
Randy Heinzen, President of VPS was recently recognized at the California Mid State Fair Wine Industry Awards as the 2018 San Luis Obispo County Winegrape Grower of the Year. John Crossland, the 2012 Winegrape Grower of the Year and Vineyard Professional Services Founder, gave a thoughtful introduction of Heinzen. Citing his wine industry leadership, environmental stewardship and community involvement, the proclamations by US Congressman Carbajal, California Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham, local Supervisor John Peschong and others affirm the preeminent position of the VPS team in local vineyard management.
Heinzen put the recent expansion in context relative to VPS's position on the Central Coast. "After over twenty years of operating in Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties, we felt that our breadth and depth of expertise, our financial transparency across all operations and our strict adherence to issues of safety and compliance makes for a compelling, unique management option in Santa Barbara County. Adding more elite vineyard managers with experience throughout the state of California helps us continue to expand. It keeps our team and farming acumen sharp and at the vanguard of Central Coast viticulture."
