Scott Laboratories Certified as a Sonoma County Green Business

Posted on June 30, 2016

Petaluma, California, June 30, 2016 – Scott Laboratories is pleased to announce that their Petaluma facility has recently been recognized as a Sonoma County Green Business by the Sonoma County Energy and Sustainability Division.

To become Green Business certified, Scott Laboratories successfully brought all operations at their Petaluma facilities up to compliance with local environmental regulations. They also went beyond local compliance to meet the standards for the Sonoma Green Business Program.

The Sonoma Green Business Program Standards for certification include monitoring and recording rates of water and energy usage, optimizing water conservation through the installation of faucet aerators and high-efficiency toilets, recording of solid and hazardous waste generation, remodeling with sustainable materials and low-VOC paint, reducing pollution via prevention programs, recycling office paper and ink cartridges, and using efficient lighting systems.

The Sonoma Green Business Program is a partnership of government agencies and utilities that assist, recognize and promote local organizations that volunteer to operate in a more environmentally responsible way. To be certified, participants must be in compliance with all environmental regulations and meet program standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution, and minimizing waste.

For over 75 years, Scott Laboratories has been meeting the needs of the beverage industry with innovative solutions and products. Scott Labs operates its main office at 2220 Pine View Way in Petaluma, CA with an additional location in Petaluma that houses its Cork Processing Plant and Laboratory, and satellite facilities in Healdsburg and Paso Robles.
