Frank Family Vineyards Promotes Corey Whitaker to Assistant Winemaker and Hires Waverly Accurso as Enologist
(August 6, 2018; Calistoga, Calif.)—Rich and Leslie Frank, owners of Frank Family Vineyards, along with winemaker and general manager Todd Graff, are pleased to announce Corey Whitaker as the new assistant winemaker. Waverly Accurso will be taking over Corey’s previous role of enologist as a new member of the Frank Family Vineyards team
In her new role at Frank Family Vineyards, Corey will work closely alongside Todd Graff to craft the winery's diverse portfolio of estate-driven wines. A biology and chemistry graduate of San Diego State University, Corey began her career in wine in the Marimar Estate tasting room in the Russian River Valley. She moved on to become a lab technician at Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery in 2013 and worked her way up from there. She joined Frank Family Vineyards as enologist in 2016 and quickly became an essential component of the winemaking team. Corey is excited to continue applying her knowledge of science and love for wine to make her mark on Frank Family’s diverse collections.
Waverly Accurso brings seven years of experience in the wine industry to her new role. Beginning her career as a cellar hand in 2011, Waverly worked her way up to wine club manager at Husch Vineyards and later spent three years as enologist at Roederer Estate. Waverly is thrilled to take on the new position with a strong foundation of hard work and dedication.
"We couldn’t be happier to promote Corey to assistant winemaker," says Graff. "Her passion for winemaking and scientific background has been an asset to the team since she joined us in 2016, and we are positive she will only continue to help Frank Family Vineyards advance our estate-driven wine program."
