Posted on August 28, 2017

Jamieson Ranch Vineyards is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Trotta as winemaker for Jamieson Ranch Vineyards, where she will be responsible for the Double Lariat and Reata brands.

Linda brings three decades of winemaking experience to her new role, including a 20-year tenure at Gundlach Bundschu Winery, where she became Director of Winemaking. In 2010, she joined Swiftwater Cellars in Washington State, a new winery where she had the opportunity to build their winemaking program from the ground up. In addition to these leadership roles in winemaking, Linda has worked harvests around the world, including Italy, South Africa and Chile, and she counts luminaries as Zelma Long and Phil Freese among her mentors. She has also managed estate vineyards and worked with long-time grower partners throughout key wine regions in various appellations within California and Washington.

"Linda understands that quality is the foundation of the success of our Jamieson Ranch Vineyards wines," said Jamieson Ranch Vineyards Founder and Spokesperson Bill Leigon. "We're delighted to have a winemaker of Linda's expertise at the helm. She is known for crafting wines of elegance and balance, and brings extensive experience with vineyard sourcing and grower relations. I'm confident she's the right person to move Jamieson Ranch Vineyards into its next phase."

Linda has earned degrees in Enology from UC Davis, and in Italian Art History from Universita` degli Studi di Padova. She has held leadership roles with Women for Winesense and Washington Wine Technical Group, and currently with the organization Wine Women. Linda is a regular speaker at industry events and her written work appears frequently in trade magazines. In addition, Linda serves as a judge in many wine competitions throughout the country.
