Patz & Hall Founder & Head Winemaker James Hall Promotes Members of His Winemaking Team
Patz & Hall Founder and Head Winemaker James Hall has just promoted several long-term members of his winemaking team. James had make every vintage of Patz & Hall wines since the winery was founded in 1988 and will continue to oversee all aspects of the winemaking and vineyards of Patz & Hall.
Tom Klassen has been promoted to Winemaker. Tom joined Patz & Hall as Assistant Winemaker in 2017. Over the past two decades, he has worked for several notable wineries including Landmark Vineyard, Dehlinger Winery and served as Assistant Winemaker at Conn Creek Winery in St Helena. After five years of working with Napa Cabernet, Tom was excited to return to crafting Sonoma Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, joining James Hall as Assistant Winemaker in 2017.
“James Hall has put together an amazing roster of growers, a true who’s who of Pinot and Chardonnay growers on the Northern California coast, said Tom Klassen. “Each of these vineyards has a story, and our goal is to get as much of that story as possible into the bottle. I’m excited to take this next step in my career and to continue to guide Patz & Hall forward.”
Ross Outon, who has been with Patz & Hall for the past seven years, has been promoted in his role as Cellarmaster. Ross is a Certified Specialist of Wine with 14 years of experience in beer/wine/spirits sales at retail and wholesale as well as being a 10-vintage cellar man. Ross is equally at home in both the wine cellar, making wine and at pouring wine for our customers, explaining the intricacies of our many wines and vineyards. Ross is above all, a Pinot maniac, who’s passion for making great Pinot knows no limits.
Jasmine Daniel joined Patz & Hall in 2017 as Senior Lab Tech/Winetracker. She has just been promoted to Enologist. Jasmine is at the center of the winemaking and cellar decisions, with her extraordinary organizational skills and experience. Prior to joining Patz & Hall, Jasmine worked at Seghesio and Dashe Cellars.
