Posted on February 26, 2020

Chicago, Ill.—Tenzing Wine & Spirits, Chicago’s leading fine wine and craft spirits distributor, announced today the appointment of Patrick Witt as the company’s new General Manager and Vice President of Sales. Effective March 1, Witt will be responsible for leading and executing all sales and trade development initiatives while maintaining the company’s commitment to excellence in brands and services and superior supplier, customer and partner relationships.

“Since day one, Tenzing has driven an unparalleled approach to business with an intense focus and prioritization on talent, the value of education and forging genuine relationships. Their business model is unlike any other in this industry and we are confident this operation will only continue to grow and expand its influence,” said David Lockie, Breakthru Beverage Group Executive Vice President, Illinois. “Patrick Witt is a prime representation of the passion, dedication and commitment that defines Tenzing and I am confident he will continue to thrive as the lead ambassador of the organization.”

Witt has served as Director of Trade Development for Tenzing Wine & Spirits since 2013, driving significant sales growth and portfolio expansion during his near decade of experience with the company. Prior to joining Tenzing, Witt held several sales manager positions primarily focusing on fine wine and spirits and on-premise accounts across the greater Chicago area. Witt succeeds Ken Fredrickson who was Tenzing’s founder and a true pioneer in the industry. Ken’s passion and commitment helped bring new and innovative brands to market and fueled the company’s successful partnerships with many bars, restaurants and retailers in Chicago.

“I am incredibly proud of all Tenzing has accomplished in the past several years and humbled to be a part of such a passionate team. Tenzing associates are united in our shared commitment to push boundaries and think differently – and I fully intend to build on Ken’s visionary leadership and continue to foster business ingenuity into the future,” said Patrick Witt, Tenzing Wine & Spirits General Manager and Vice President of Sales.

Founded in 2010, Tenzing is owned by Breakthru Beverage Group and operates with a unique passion to educate and experiment with customers to elevate beverage programs and build innovative fine wine and craft brands in the marketplace.
