Les Constable, owner of Brushy Creek Vineyards passes
It is with great sadness the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association reports the passing of long-time industry member, Les Constable, owner of Brushy Creek Vineyards (BCV) in Alvord, Texas.
Over his career in the Texas wine and grape industry, Les was known as a pioneer and served on many boards and committees related to the industry. In 2005, the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association awarded Les the John Crosby Award for lifetime achievement in the Texas wine and grape industry. In 2019 the Association awarded Les the Frank Madla Award for diligent and altruistic commitment to furthering the Texas wine and grape industry through legislative efforts.
Of his service on the Association board, executive director, Dacota Haselwood had this to say, “Les was a board member who was willing and able to help solve the smallest logistics problems to more complex systemic policy problems. I feel fortunate to have served the Association while Les was a member of the board of directors. The board and members of the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association express their deepest condolences to the Constable family during this time of grief.”
