Alexander Milligan Named President of David Milligan Selections

NEW YORK (July 2, 2018) David Milligan Selections, a leading French-wine import company, announced today that Alexander Milligan has been named President of the company.

“Our customers and suppliers can rest assured that someone with a successful history and deep knowledge of the wine industry is leading the charge. Alex and I have worked together for 12 years, during which time he has increasingly taken over responsibility for our sales, marketing and administrative operations and travelled extensively to our 30 markets across the United States,” says David Milligan, who founded the company in 1995. “Alex has also traveled widely in France, visiting suppliers and working the harvest with our friends the Quiot family in the Southern Rho?ne and Provence.”

Alex previously served as Vice President. Before joining the company, he graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in communications and worked for two years at Sherry-Lehmann Wine & Spirits in New York City, including as assistant director of marketing.

“Since I was a child, I have seen my father leave an indelible mark on the wine industry,” says Alex. “I am honored to take up the mantle he is passing to me and to make David Milligan Selections a company admired by future generations of wine lovers. Our wines show a focus on terroir, at an approachable price. French wine is for Everyone!”

A native New Yorker, Alex currently lives in Ridgefield, CT with his wife, Julie, and their son, Pierce. As President, Alex plans to continue the company’s legacy while launching new products, such as Glace? Rose?, a summer wine served on ice, and wine in cans, which he’ll bring to market next year.

“Alex has done an incredible job managing the day-to-day operations at David Milligan Selections over the last few years and I know that our business will be in good hands,” says Founder David Milligan, who will now serve in the role of Founder and Adviser to the company.
