“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to be able to take my experience and expertise in the industry and use it to help grow one of California’s most historic, family-owned wine companies,” says Steckler. “The lineup of brands at C. Mondavi represents the breadth of quality that wine country offers, and I’m truly excited to get started with the group.”
Before her stint at Duckhorn, Steckler was instrumental in managing the national account team at Pasternak Wine Imports, helping to develop a number of key new businesses around the country and drive growth across all trade channels.
“National chains are a critical component to delivering our corporate vision, and Maria has demonstrated an unparalleled ability to meet the needs of both trade partners and distributors throughout her career,” notes David Brown, Senior Vice President of sales at C. Mondavi & Family. “We are really excited to add her decades of national chain wisdom to the leadership of our iconic company.”
About C. Mondavi:
In 1943, Italian immigrants Cesare and Rosa Mondavi purchased the historic Charles Krug property, which remains a family-owned winery producing estate-driven Napa Valley wines, built on a foundation of family values, hard work and a European winemaking tradition. The winery is under the direction of Peter Mondavi Jr. and Marc Mondavi, who steward the family business passed to them by their father, legendary Napa Valley wine icon Peter Mondavi Sr. The family is now proudly welcoming members of the fourth generation to the business, continuing a legacy started nearly 75 years ago and setting a foundation for generations to come.
