Shannon Zajec Named Business Development Director at Women for WineSense
The Napa|Sonoma chapter of Women for WineSense (WWS) announced the formation of its capital development team, which will launch April 1, 2014. Shannon Zajec, a WWS member and a founding partner of Employers Select Insurance Services Inc. (eselectins.com), with offices in both Rocklin and Napa, California, has been appointed business development director. Maria Cordova, a member of WWS and founder and president of HumanageHR (humanagehr.com) in Napa, has been appointed fundraising director. These new additions to the chapter’s board of directors have been tasked with generating event and program sponsors as well as donations for the chapter’s scholarship fund, respectively.
Chapter president Christine T. Mueller stated, “The team will be responsible for three main initiatives, all focused on expanding our chapter’s resources in order to bring additional funds into the chapter to (a) increase member satisfaction, primarily through the quality of events; (b) increase the monies in the scholarship fund and potentially expand the program to more than four scholarship awards per year; as well as (c) develop the strategic annual business development plan.”
Zajec’s firm provides employee benefits consulting and brokerage services for over 50 employer groups throughout the region. She explained her fundraising background, “having raised thousands of sponsorship dollars from vendors to our industry through relationship building and communication of value to key leaders,” making her a perfect fit to help grow the chapter’s resources.
Mueller summed up the chapter’s plan for the team: “We’re excited to have Shannon and Maria join our board of directors to help build our resources. With their extensive backgrounds in business development, fundraising and community-building, we’re thrilled to have such well-qualified and enthusiastic leaders grow Women for WineSense in new directions.”
