Tractor Supply Company Divisional VP Appointed to FFA Sponsor Board

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (Oct. 30, 2013) – As part of its ongoing support of the National FFA Organization, Tractor Supply Company recently selected Marc Johnson as its new FFA Sponsor Board representative.

Johnson is currently the divisional vice president of merchandising for Tractor Supply and has held numerous leadership positions since joining the company in 2001 as district manager in Omaha, Nebraska.

“The FFA Foundation’s main goal is to develop student leaders and provide the secure financial resources to support future agricultural education,” said Kim Weseli, regional director of the National FFA Foundation. “Marc will be a great addition to the Board, and his passion and commitment to its values will foster an already strong partnership between Tractor Supply and FFA.”

Johnson will be part of a 19-person board of trustees that will work with businesses, organizations and individuals to raise funds and awareness of FFA activities, in addition to recognizing members’ achievements.

“It is a tremendous honor to be selected by my peers at Tractor Supply to represent them on the Sponsorship Board,” said Johnson. “I understand that it comes with high expectations and accountability towards fostering the existing relationship between Tractor Supply and FFA. My initial goal is to be as involved as possible and seek ways to drive positive change.”

Johnson moved to Tennessee in 2005 when he was promoted to director of store administration. One year later, Johnson became regional vice president of operations, overseeing the Southwest region. In 2010, he was named to his current role as divisional vice president of merchandising.

Prior to joining Tractor Supply, Johnson spent numerous years at Shopko serving in several different management positions. The Moline, Illinois. native currently resides in Middle Tennessee with his family where they enjoy operating a small alpaca hobby farm.

Tractor Supply has been a sponsor of the National FFA Foundation for 27 years, resulting in numerous joint initiatives including the Growing Scholars Program, an FFA horse evaluation career development event, National FFA Week and the annual National Association of Agricultural Educators Conference. Tractor Supply hosts FFA fundraising events throughout the year at its stores across the U.S. and works closely with local FFA chapters and high school agriculture advisors to provide resources and leverage synergies.
