Randy Martinsen has joined Grgich Hills Estate as its Director of Marketing, heading up the winery’s marketing, communications and direct-to-consumer efforts.

Randy has consulted with several wineries in Napa and Sonoma in their marketing, and leveraging wine club systems. He has held senior management and officer positions in marketing, information technology, software development, and customer service in multiple companies. Randy also recently held the position of Interim CEO for the Napa Chamber of Commerce for more than six months until a new CEO could be found. Most recently, he was the CEO and a Senior Consultant at BudgetWorks® Inc.

His education includes a degree in Finance from BYU and MBA studies at the University of Utah. He is also a graduate from the California Banking School and a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley (class 25). Randy has been a vintner in Napa since 2002.

“We’ve enjoyed reading Randy’s marketing column in the Napa Register and thought he would be the perfect fit for us,” commented Violet Grgich, Vice President and Co-Proprietor. “We’ve put together a top-notch marketing team and we’re excited to have Randy’s extensive experience to help us make the world more aware of the remarkable story of Grgich Hills.”

Located at 1829 St. Helena Hwy (Hwy. 29) in Rutherford, Grgich Hills Estate was founded in 1977 by Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko “Mike” Grgich and Austin Hills after Mike’s Chardonnay outscored the best of France in the now-famous 1976 Paris Tasting.

Today, this iconic winery farms 366 acres naturally, without artificial pesticides or herbicides, and uses its passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines. Mike is assisted by his daughter, Violet Grgich, Vice President of Operations, and his nephew, Ivo Jeramaz, Vice President of Vineyards and Production. For more information, visit
