The California Agricultural Statistics Service released the 2018 Crush report today. According to the report, the state crushed more than 4.28 million tons of wine-grapes in 2018 - up by roughly 7 percent over 2017, when the state crushed approximately 4 million tons of winegrapes

Representatives for both sides agreed on one point: the issue is not settled. .. Measure C co-sponsor Mike Hackett said the ordinance was an incremental step in the right direction. He was the managing partner for Rapidfil LLC and had just retired before he died. Mike had recently accepted a position to be the PNW sales representative for Eric Mercier. One of Napa's original "cult" wineries has changed hands. Founders Dick and Ann Grace have sold their Grace Family Vineyards to Kathryn Green, a former San Francisco management consultant, for an undisclosed price. The Graces will continue to live on the property, and all of their staff - including winemaker Helen Keplinger and vineyard manager Kendall Smith - will stay on board.

Dick and Ann Grace have sold Grace Family Vineyards, one of Napa's original cult Cabernet Sauvignon producers, as they step back from the wine business. Kathryn Green, a Napa vineyard owner, purchased the Victorian house, a small winery and a 3-acre vineyard as well as the inventory and brand. Production averages 650 cases a year. The sale price was not disclosed

The growth in the sparkling wine category shows no signs of slowing, turbocharging the profitability of the newly-formed Henkell Freixenet. Just-released figures reveal that revenue increased by more than 56% in 2018, to revenue of €823.7m ($925.97m). Sales of Grupo Freixenet, acquired by Henkell & Co in 2018, grew by 4.9%.
