Occidental, CA - January 13, 2016 Furthermore has purchased Graton Ridge Cellars of the Russian River Valley. Furthermore will take over the Graton Ridge label, tasting room, winery and estate vineyard. The tasting room will soon feature a tasting of Furthermore’s single vineyard designate Pinot Noirs spanning California’s top regions as well as a Graton Ridge tasting showcasing the wines of the Russian River Valley.

Graton Ridge Cellars has been focused on making small lot Russian River Valley wines. This week the Graton Ridge 2014 Petite Sirah won a double Gold at San Francisco Chronicle wine competition and the 2013 Reserve Pinot Noir, 2013 estate Pinot Noir and 2013 estate Chardonnay all took home gold medals as well.

“We are delighted to have Graton Ridge be our new home” said Furthermore co-founder, Chad Richard. “Graton Ridge is one of the best kept secrets in West Sonoma County because these limited edition wines have only been available in the tasting room.”

Furthermore has been obsessively focused on producing Pinot Noir from California's top Pinot Noir vineyards. This intense focus of only working with the absolute best vineyards has paid off. Furthermore's soon to be released estate bottling, the 2013 Nevina’s Vineyard, won Best Pinot Noir at this year's San Francisco International Wine Competition. At the same time, Furthermore also received the Winemaker of the Year award.

The addition of an estate vineyard and tasting room right on Sonoma’s primary pinot trail, with neighbors such as Paul Hobbs, Merry Edwards, Red Car, Dutton-Goldfield, Dutton Estate, Iron Horse and Lynmar, strengthens Furthermore’s Russian River Pinot Noir program after their successful efforts building a strong Sonoma Coast vineyard portfolio.

Furthermore has also announced the appointment of Erica Stancliff as head winemaker. Erica is the winemaker for her own Trombetta Family Wines label and was formerly part of the winemaking program at Paul Hobbs’ CrossBarn, Rudd and Vin?a Cobos. Erica has a degree in viticulture and enology from Fresno State and has also worked as an enologist at Enartis Vinquiry.

Furthermore’s Graton Ridge tasting room will have a strong emphasis on curating local art, beginning with a six month residency for Sebastopol based artist Peter Krohn, who has a very unique process of using a scanner to compose and capture found nature and then prints the images on aluminum using a dye-sublimation process.

Furthermore’s new home at Graton Ridge is open seven days a week from 10:00 - 4:30 at 3561 Gravenstein Hwy N, Sebastopol, CA 95472.
