Napa, CA, July 1, 2014 — On the United States’ most patriotic holiday, Americans have a choice to purchase products made in the U.S.A. and CK Mondavi wines are the perfect pairing. Sold at stores nationwide for $6.99 (for a 750ml bottle and also available in 1.5L bottles) all CK Mondavi wines are 100 percent American grown and made. In addition, this fourth generation, family-run business gives back to the injured men and women of the Armed Forces through an in-store promotion that runs May through August and supports the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

“Many wines in this price point import grapes from all over the world rather than source them right here in the U.S.,” said Marc Mondavi, proprietor of CK Mondavi Family Vineyards, who also happens to celebrate his birthday on the 4th of July. “My grandparents started our American-made tradition more than 70 years ago and today it’s the thing my family is most proud of.”

CK Mondavi sources 100 percent of the grapes for their wines from American farms in California, including the family’s 1,850 acres of vineyards. Many of the farmers CK Mondavi works with have been growing grapes with the family for generations.

“Consumers should always look for the word ‘California’ on the label because state law mandates that to include it on a wine bottle, every single grape must be from the state,” added Mondavi. “You can’t source grapes from outside the U.S. and put ‘California’ on the front of a wine bottle.”

CK Mondavi produces the following wines:
• CK Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon
• CK Mondavi Chardonnay
• CK Mondavi Merlot
• CK Mondavi Moscato
• CK Mondavi Pinot Grigio
• CK Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc
• CK Mondavi Scarlet Five Red Blend
• CK Mondavi White Zinfandel
• CK Mondavi Zinfandel

CK Mondavi kicked off their third annual donation program for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund on May 1 and the program will run through the end of August. Consumers can use the in-store coupons and rebates now available nationwide. When redeemed each coupon generates a $1 donation by CK Mondavi to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, up to a maximum annual donation of $50,000. Consumers can visit or scan the QR codes on the IFHF coupons for more information on the program or CK Mondavi wines.

“We are honored to provide financial assistance to the injured men and women of the Armed Forces and their families through our support of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund,” added Marc Mondavi. “My father, Peter Mondavi Sr., is a World War II veteran and this cause is very personal to our family. We are asking our customers to help us reach our goal of $50,000 this year by purchasing CK Mondavi wines this summer.”
