O'Neill Vintners & Distillers Partners with Hugely Popular #IMomSoHard Comedy Duo to Launch Accomplice Wines

Famous Accomplices Kristin & Jen Create California Wines To Celebrate Every Mom

LARKSPUR, Calif. – July 20, 2021 – Every mom needs an accomplice, particularly during the past year. Comedians and long time friends, Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley created a place where every mom can feel understood resulting in millions of fans for their #IMOMSOHARD web-series which has now led to the launch of Accomplice – a collection of super premium California wines in partnership with O’Neill Vintners & Distillers. Accomplice will feature three varieties: 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2020 Chardonnay and 2020 Rosé.

“When we started #IMOMSOHARD, we were feeling very lost in motherhood. We leaned on each other for much-needed laughter and support and cherished those rare occasions we could get together and laugh (sometimes cry) over a glass of wine,” said Hensley and Smedley. “Wine has been a character in our story since the beginning, so it makes PERFECT sense that we would create our own delicious, go-to wine for the newbie or the connoisseur.  Accomplice is a symbol of friendship, love, and the mutual understanding that, no matter what, we have each other’s back. We’ve gained millions of loyal followers since 2016, when we started sharing our friendship with the world, which just proves we all need an accomplice to make life a little more enjoyable.”

Accomplice Wines are fruit-forward, delicious, and can be enjoyed during any occasion – from mom’s night out to watching crime docs while the kids are asleep.

Rosé (SRP $15)
Accomplice Tasting Notes: “Built for brunch, drinkable whenever. Accomplice Rosé smells like strawberry, pear, and citrus blossom, tastes like watermelon and honeydew, and has 'ditch day' written all over it. Bright and acidic, it pairs perfectly with fruit, cheese, and sunny days. Or don’t sweat the pairings and enjoy this one all on its own.”

Chardonnay (SRP $15)
Accomplice Tasting Notes: “Opens bright and fruity, finishes all vanilla and cream, this Chardonnay is always full of surprises. Stick around for the long, structured finish; this one’s done plenty of time in the barrel. A bottle of Accomplice Chardonnay paired with your favorite charcuterie board—or, let’s be honest, your favorite bag of chips? It’s the perfect alibi.”

Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP $15)
Accomplice Tasting Notes: “Bold and easy to drink, this smooth criminal pairs beautifully with whatever’s in the fridge. Flavors of blackberry, plum, and currant along with subtle, smooth tannins make this one a California Cab worth writing home about (or running away with).”

"In all seriousness, we dedicate Accomplice Wines to all of you out there who have had a rough year and choose to keep pushing forward through all of the rubble. We get you. And while some of you learned how to make sourdough bread or organize your bookshelf, we made wine.” shared Hensley and Smedley. “For us, the motivation was simple: Make the wine and someday we will all be able to cheers together again! That will be one great day.”

#IMOMSOHARD partnered with O’Neill Vintners & Distillers to produce Accomplice, with Hensley and Smedley building their ideal wines with lead winemaker, Marty Spate. “We loved the brand idea from Kristin and Jen, and we knew O’Neill had to be their partner-in-wine (pun intended) as they brought Accomplice to life,” said Christine Moll, Chief Marketing Officer of O'Neill Vintners & Distillers.“It was important to all of us that we produce premium California varieties, to make each glass a true celebration of everything it takes to be a mom (or a dad).”

Accomplice is currently available for online-only presale at accomplicewine.com in a three-bottle bundle (SRP $45/3-pk) including free shipping. This presale runs through August 5, 2021 and orders will ship on or after August 13, with national distribution beginning in Spring 2022.

Hensley and Smedley concluded, "Life is busy. We like it that way. We also like when things settle down and we can enjoy a glass of wine that always delivers. Whether it’s a night alone or an impromptu dance party, we are here for all of it. Here’s to all of our people: the moms, the dads, the ladies, the dudes, and all of you we call 'friend,' we are and will forever be your trusted ACCOMPLICE! Cheers!"

About Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley

#IMOMSOHARD began as a popular web-series by real-life best friends, comedians, and moms Kristin and Jen. One night, over a glass of wine and many tears of frustration, they decided to tell a different kind of story and spoke openly about their fears and failures to prove that the only way to survive motherhood is through laughter and friendship. This sparked an online community of two million of the most engaged followers that social media has ever seen, confirmation that moms and women everywhere needed to laugh and to be heard. Both women write and produce the #IMSH series with a common goal: Maybe we can make you feel better about the job you’re doing if you see the terrible job we’re doing.
