Vote for the Best in Wine Packaging in Wine Business Monthly's PACK Design Awards

Choose from more than 100 submissions to determine the People's Choice Award winner--voting ends on Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. PST

SONOMA, CA (July 21, 2020) – Voting for the People’s Choice Award at Wine Business Monthly’s PACK Design Awards is now open. The team at Wine Business Monthly (WBM) has built a platform that will allow you to browse from the more than 100 submissions to the wine packaging and design contest, gaining insight into the thoughts behind the design and the vendors used.

For the first time in the competition’s history, we’re opening up voting to all members of the wine trade, not just attendees of the PACK Conference. WBM hopes to use this digital platform to broaden the discussion on wine packaging, providing inspiration and information by sharing the unique designs.

Choose from packages in seven categories:

Classic: Open to traditional 750ml bottle molds. Packages will be judged on their visual appeal, design functionality, appropriateness for the price segment and the creative utilization of the classic bottle format.

Can (New Category in 2020): Open to any package housed in an aluminum can. Packages will be judged on their visual appeal, design functionality, appropriateness for the price segment and creative utilization of the can packaging format. Note: Packages should be submitted exactly as they are sold at retail.

Alternative: Open to any packaging not in a classic bottle or can format. Examples include: single serve, wine boxes, bags, plastic, large format, etc. Packages will be judged on their visual appeal, design functionality, appropriateness for the price segment and creative utilization of the alternative packaging format. Note: Packages should be submitted exactly how they are sold at retail.

Luxury Package: Open to any packaging format that retails for $40 and higher at a 750ml equivalent, whose packages are designed to compete and succeed on high-end restaurant wine lists and in fine wine shops against luxury wines from around the world. Packages will be judged on their visual appeal, design functionality, appropriateness for the price segment and quality of packaging materials used.

Redesign: The redesign must have been introduced to the marketplace between May 1, 2017, and May 1, 2020. Packages will be judged on the successfulness of the redesign, their visual appeal, design functionality and appropriateness for the price segment.

Series: Open to entries consisting of two or more pieces that work together as a cohesive whole. To enter this category, please submit between two (2) and five (5) packages from the series. Packages will be judged on the cohesiveness of the series, their visual appeal as a series and as individual bottles, design functionality and appropriateness for the price segment.

Assorted Set (New Category in 2020): This is category is open to gift packs, holiday sets, wooden boxes, subscription packs and presentation cases. To be eligible for this category, your entry must include the case along with the wine housed within the case. Sets will be judged on the cohesiveness of the set, their visual appeal as a set and as individual pieces, design functionality and appropriateness for the price segment. Note: Entries should be submitted as they would be received by the consumer.
