Sonoma County Winegrowers Launch Take Out, Eat In Promotion
April 08, 2020
SANTA ROSA, April 7, 2020 – To promote and encourage residents to support local restaurants during the county-wide shelter-in-place order, Sonoma County Winegrowers has launched the “Take Out, Eat In” promotion, a social media campaign to reward those that are ordering take out and sharing on social media. A first-of-its-kind initiative, the campaign encourages residents to share photos of their takeout meals from Sonoma County-based restaurants on Instagram and Facebook while using the hashtag #SCTakeOutEatIn.
Now through the end of April (with the possibility of extending based on the shelter-in-place order) a winning photo will be selected on Tuesdays and the poster will receive a Sonoma County swag bag and a restaurant gift card. The Sonoma County Economic Development Board is supporting the project through the donation of restaurant gift cards and aprons, which winners will receive along with their Sonoma County swag bags. To enter, the photo must be posted on a public account and include the hashtag #SCTakeOutEatIn. Participants can feature dishes from any restaurant that is currently open for business. Consumers are encouraged to enter as many times as they would like, however the same person cannot win twice. Bonus points for pairing the meal with a Sonoma County wine.
Winners will receive a direct message to notify them of their placement and prizes will be distributed once shelter-in-place orders have diminished.
Through a partnership with Sonoma County Tourism, signs were also produced to help signify which restaurants are continuing services such as take out; online ordering; curbside delivery; and home delivery during the shelter in place order. Local graphic designer Randi Morehead donated her design services, and Accent Printing in Windsor donated the printing of 500 signs. Sonoma County Tourism worked with chambers of commerce throughout Sonoma County to distribute the signs to restaurants and beverage companies to place in their front windows. In addition, Sonoma County Tourism is maintaining a list of restaurants and beverage companies offering take out, delivery, or curbside services during the shelter in place order. These lists are updated daily.
