Chris Madrigal, Madrigal Family Winery's Founder & President states, “We love supporting our local artists and photographers, who are committed to a skill and to creating their own personal vision and appreciating life, very much like we are at the winery up in Calistoga. One of my favorite things to do on a cool winter evening is looking at art and listening to music while sipping a fantastic glass of wine.”
ROSE HODGES - Bio
I grew up without ketchup. The size of a loaf of bread was as big as my Epson printer. Growing up in Germany left me with rich memories of flavors. German bread and butter was a meal in itself. There was no gluten free, but gluten freedom. Most of my childhood memories were around food and that's when I realized I am a real foodie.
Rose discovered photography while studying Graphic Design. A well-known photographer came to the University to lecture sharing his still life and view camera work. After many years of searching, Rose knew immediately this was her calling. Rose assisted other photographers for 5 years in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City. She decided to open her studio in San Francisco where she currently works.
MARY SERPHOS - Bio
Mary started taking photos as a child, inspired by her father's devout love of photography. In 1998, on a trip to Thailand, she used her first digital SLR camera and was hooked. Making the move to digital from film proved to be a long slow process but now it's pure passion where Mary fuses photo imagery design with digital art. Please check out Mary's Instagram gallery for a comprehensive look at over 7,000 of her artful images.
Mary has been exhibiting her work in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1998. She currently has an exhibit at Google Headquarters in Mountain View, CA and teaches iPhonography classes in Marin (see classes for more info) Mary grew up in New York and moved to San Francisco from NY in 1996 where she lived for 11 years then to Nosara Costa Rica for two years and has made her home in Fairfax, Marin, CA for the past 7 years.
"The difference between the casual impression and the intensified image is about as great as that separating the average business letter from a poem. If you choose your subject selectively -intuitively- the camera can write poetry." -Harry Callahan
JEFF GREENDORFER – Bio
In the earliest days of his childhood, Jeff has marveled at and been fascinated by cars, their designs, their curves and more. He saw them as works of art, especially pre-1960s cars.
Since his early 20’s, photography has enabled him to capture subjects that have drawn him in, be it an amazing array of brachen ferns, the tail fins of a 1959 Cadillac, or the fluid-looking chrome grill of an early Bugatti.
He has published and sold note cards of some of his images and has appeared in a number of shows throughout No. CA. Most recently, the two images that he submitted were featured at the 2018 Marin County Fair. He uses a Nikon camera system and occasionally his very handy iPhone 8.
PATRICIA GATTI – Bio
Patricia Gatti is an artist, world traveler and wine aficionado. Her photographs capture the essence of their subject with an artist’s eye for composition, lighting and textures. The works on display are from her recent trip to Perito Moreno National Park in her native country of Argentina known for its magnificent glaciers that attract nature lovers worldwide. Her portfolio includes photos from the Mediterranean coast of France, Italy, Spain and also Greece and Turkey where she sailed with her husband aboard their yacht for many years. She studied with Chester Arnold and Ted Greer. Patricia is the manager of the Madrigal Wine Salon and Gallery in Sausalito, California.
DAVIDE ANTONIO – Bio
Davide Antonio is an Italian writer, photographer and designer presently living in the USA. A modern Renaissance man with a passion for art, music, theatre, poetry and science. Founder of companies, vintner of wines, sailor of yachts. Like his writing, Davide’s photos express the unique story of a place, a person and a moment in time. The singular work presented at Madrigal Wine Salon and Gallery was recorded in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and thanks to luminous metal printing has become part of our collective consciousness for eternity (or close to it). Davide would be most grateful for your patronage.
