St. Helena, CA (April 18, 2018) – Boisset Collection will be a featured participant in the first International Biodynamic Wine Conference May 6-7 at the Golden Gate Club in San Francisco, the largest gathering of Biodynamic wine producers ever assembled in the U.S. Proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset will give the opening remarks on the second day of the event and two of his wineries, Raymond Vineyards and DeLoach Vineyards, which are event sponsors, will join the more than 45 wineries from five countries that are participating in the landmark event from Demeter USA.

“We have never before seen an event of this size and scale in the U.S.,” said Elizabeth Candelario, president of Demeter USA. “This is truly a historic gathering. The quality and reputation of Biodynamic wines in the U.S. are finding greater acclaim and awareness with both consumers and the industry.”

The conference features 37 U.S. wineries and 10 wineries from Argentina, Chile, France and Italy, who together will pour more than 130 wines during the event’s signature tasting event. Some of the international wineries have never before poured in the U.S., giving trade and consumers a first opportunity to sample their wines.

Boisset grew up in a small Burgundian village, where working alongside his grandmother in the garden ignited his passion for the land. His respect for the natural rhythms of the earth led him to organic and Biodynamic philosophies of farming, which he implemented in the family’s estate in Burgundy and at Raymond and DeLoach in California.

“We have a long-held family commitment to stewardship of our land and our irreplaceable terroir,” said Boisset. “We farm not for this generation, but for the generations to follow. We listen to the rhythms of nature in pursuit of authentic wines that respect the living life of the vineyards, now and for the future!”

Monty Waldin, author of several books on Biodynamic wines who will also speak at the conference, said worldwide there are more than 600 wineries with a total of 20,254 acres of Demeter-certified Biodynamic vines. In the U.S., there are 45 producers and 3,275 acres of Demeter certified Biodynamic vines. Boisset has a total of nearly 160 planted acres that are either certified Biodynamic by Demeter USA or are in transition to be certified.

In addition to Boisset’s speech, the May 7th full-day program for trade and media professionals will feature international experts from around the world and an exclusive trade tasting from 4 to 6 p.m. The $50 ticket includes the full day program, lunch and trade tasting, which will include Biodynamic wines from Raymond Vineyards and DeLoach Vineyards. Following the trade program is the Demeter Rocks! tasting and party from 7 to 9 p.m., open to consumers. Tickets are $75 and are available online.

Biodynamic producers themselves will gather on Sunday, May 6th, for a full-day program of educational events. The event is also open to the public and costs $250.
