NAPA VALLEY, CA (April 13, 2016) – A milestone occasion is approaching in the Napa Valley, as Beringer Vineyards celebrates its 140th Anniversary April 24 with the 1st Annual Founders’ Day event at the winery in St. Helena. As the Napa Valley’s oldest continuously operating winery, Beringer decided to commemorate its anniversary with an annual Founders’ Day, which will include special wine tastings, seminars, cave tours, live music and much more.

Beringer’s 140th Anniversary and the winery’s inaugural Founders’ Day event provide the perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy the winery’s first ever, open-house-style celebration, which will highlight Beringer’s rich history, renowned vineyards, and of course, classic wines. Educational tours and special tastings will also be part of the all-day festivities to take place on the grounds of the historic Rhine House in St. Helena.

Returning to his family’s winery last year, Mark Beringer has taken the reins as winemaker at Beringer Vineyards, and fittingly, he will be on hand (along with his mother and father) for an insightful presentation that will feature a selection of Beringer’s highly acclaimed wines, including a sneak peek at the 2013 vintage offering including the Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and single vineyard Cabernets. An additional seminar offering will be hosted by master sommelier Andrea Robinson who will guide guests through four decades of Beringer’s world-class wines.

Along with plenty of food and wine tasting opportunities throughout the day, favorite area band Whiskey & Honey will provide country tunes in the backyard of the Rhine House. Not to be missed is a 40-minute St. Helena Home Vineyard Hike with viticulturist Jim Burgess, who will discuss the estate’s long-running vineyard farming practices. A 140th Anniversary presentation ceremony will commemorate the occasion.

This historic and memorable event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 24. Tickets to Founders’ Day at Beringer Vineyards are $25 per person in advance and $35 at the door and can be purchased at (seminar tasting available for additional fee). Beringer Vineyards is located at 2000 Main Street, St. Helena, CA 94574. For additional information on Beringer Vineyards, call 707-257-5771.
