Women for WineSense Napa|Sonoma to host lectures and meetup
Sonoma, California | September 21, 2015: The Napa | Sonoma chapter of Women for WineSense (WWS) continues their new Lecture Series with upcoming events in October and November. Lectures include, "Beyond the Cookie Cutter D2C Barrel, Vine and Wine Clubs," on Wednesday, October 21st, from 10:30 a.m. to Noon at St. Francis Winery, in Santa Rosa, Calif., with guest speaker, Theresa Dorr, CMO of Active Consulting, and “The Do's and Don'ts of Direct to Consumer Wine Sales,” on Tuesday, November 3rd, from 9:30 a.m. to Noon at Merryvale Vineyards in St. Helena, Calif., with guest speaker, Sandra Hess, Founder of DTC Wine Workshops. Additionally, the WWS chapter will hold a meetup at Flora Springs – The Room, in St. Helena, Calif., on Thursday, October 15th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., open to members and the public.
ABOUT THE LECTURE SERIES
Women for WineSense Napa | Sonoma is proud to present a series of lectures, featuring noted professionals from a broad range of the wine industry. Chapter President, Christine L. Mueller, explained, “These lectures engage members and the wine community to enhance their wine and industry knowledge. Each lecture is targeted to a specific industry segment with goal of growing attendees' knowledge base.”
ABOUT THE EVENTS
At "Beyond the Cookie Cutter D2C Barrel, Vine and Wine Clubs," learn how wineries are generating million dollar wine clubs from Theresa Dorr, a pioneer as the first woman to bring technology to the wine industry with the SaaS CRM solution. She generated triple digit growth for Active Club Solutions and led the company to be a recognized leader in the wine industry. With her expertise in club programs she is recognized as the “Queen of Clubs,” and published writer.
This event is targeted to winery and wine store team members who manage direct to consumer sales. It also is ideal for winery owners who are looking to increase sales as well as virtual wineries.
For “The Do's and Don'ts of Direct to Consumer Wine Sales,” lecturer Sandra Hess covers the top to dos and don'ts for wineries interested in selling direct. The presentation includes case studies using ideal blends of technology and processes to grow direct sales, retain loyal customers, and expand market share. Each attendee leaves with a DTC Sales Checklist and key takeaways that can be implemented the next day.
This event is ideal for winery owners, partners and managers—anyone responsible for growing direct wine sales, marketing and retention efforts as well as brand expansion.
ABOUT THE HOSTS
For more than four decades, the wines of St. Francis Winery & Vineyards in Santa Rosa have reflected the finest mountain and valley vineyards in Sonoma County. Their founder, Joe Martin, fell in love with Sonoma Valley and established St. Francis Vineyard in 1971. Today, a new generation of winemakers, Katie Madigan and Chris Louton, continues the winery’s long tradition of luscious, elegant, fruit-driven wines from Sonoma County grapes. They farm more than 400 acres of Certified Sustainable estate vineyards in Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley.
As the first winery production facility built after the repeal of prohibition, Merryvale occupies a unique place in the history of Napa Valley and California wine history. Situated on Highway 29 in beautiful St. Helena, the iconic building that houses Merryvale Vineyards has long been established as a premier winemaking facility. Founded in 1978, Flora Springs has been a family affair for over three decades in St. Helena. As both artisan winemakers and growers, the family is committed to the traditions of fine winemaking and responsible stewardship of its 650 acres of vineyard land for future generations to savor and uphold. Today, ninety percent of Flora Springs' red wines are sourced from its organically-farmed estate vineyards, and all of these wines are crafted in their solar-powered 19th-century stone winery and caves.
Tickets for these lectures start at $10 for WWS members and $25 for non-members. The lectures are open to the public, but seating is highly limited.
