Mike Grgich filmed by Robert Kamen as part of upcoming "Judgment of Paris" movie

September 17, 2015

Rutherford, California, September 11, 2015 Well-known Hollywood screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen (writer and producer of acclaimed films like “The Karate Kid”, “Fifth Element”, “Taken”, “The Transporter 2”, and “A Walk in the Clouds”, and also proprietor of Kamen Estate Wines) turned the Grgich Hills Estate tasting room into a movie set on September 9 to film Miljenko “Mike” Grgich for Robert’s upcoming movie “Judgment of Paris.” Mike was thrilled to be the subject of the very first shoot of the movie!

The movie is being co-produced by Jonathan Rotella, entrepreneur, philanthropist and longtime adorer of Grgich Hills Estate wines, and is based on George Taber’s book, “Judgment of Paris”, about the historic 1976 Paris Tasting that revolutionized the wine world. During that competition, the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay crafted by Mike outscored the best of France in this now-famous tasting. Principal photography in France is anticipated to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Paris Tasting in 2016, and the release date to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Grgich Hills Estate in 2017.

An opportunity to invest in the vehicle producing the movie is currently being made available only to “accredited investors” (as defined in Rule 501 of Regulation D under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended).

Grgich Hills Estate was founded in 1977 by Miljenko “Mike” Grgich and Austin Hills after the Paris Tasting, and Mike was inducted into the Vintners Hall of Fame in 2008. ??Today, this iconic winery farms 366 acres naturally, without artificial pesticides or herbicides, and uses its passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines. Mike is assisted by his daughter, Violet Grgich, Vice President of Operations, and his nephew, Ivo Jeramaz, Vice President of Vineyards and Production. For more information, visit
