Premiere Napa Valley 2021: The Vice Wine Donates 20 Cases of 100% Single-Vineyard Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Posted on May 27, 2021

To hear Moroccan-born winemaker Malek Amrani describe a barrel of 2018 100% Single-Vineyard Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that he held back in anticipation of bringing a phenomenal wine to Napa’s prestigious charitable trade event, is nothing short of poetry. For their first time at Premiere Napa Valley, The Vice Wine donated one of the largest lots in the 2021 auction.

The wine is sustainably produced,  unfiltered and unfined. Hand-selected by Amrani, this Single-Vineyard Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is single barrel-fermented and aged for 28 months in 100% Sylvain Grande Reserve heavy toast new French oak. Powerful, muscular and plush, this wine is energetic and intense in its youth, with a lifetime ahead in the cellar.

Completely without pretension, Malek Amrani, the winemaker and entrepreneur at the helm of The Vice Wine, has grown a luxury brand that reflects the values of its founders: quality, sustainability, sophistication, health, and “exclusivity for everyone”. Amrani knocks the notion that Napa wines are only for the one percent by producing exceptional quality Napa Valley wines at affordable prices, celebrating the diversity of Napa Valley with an impressive portfolio of single varietal wines from 12 of the 16 AVAs and a select variation of styles. He shares his passion for Napa Valley wine far and wide.  Even during the pandemic struggle, Amrani never paused on his mission to successfully sell wine in markets that don’t typically have access to fine wines. Everyone has vices, so why not make them Napa Valley wines.

Launched in 2016 by Malek Amrani and his wife Torie Greenberg Amrani, The Vice Wine is about the discovery, treatment and true expression of fruit from renowned Napa Valley vineyards to make wines that are memorable, and obtainable.
