Mount Veeder's Brandlin Winery Renamed Brandlin Estate, Unveils New Branding and Website
NAPA VALLEY, MOUNT VEEDER, Calif. – APRIL 27, 2021 – Brandlin Estate is excited to announce that in keeping with the winery’s focus on estate-grown wines from its 95-year-old vineyard on Mount Veeder, moving forward Brandlin Winery will be renamed Brandlin Estate. To build awareness of the new name, and the storied history of the Brandlin Estate, the winery recently launched new branding, including a redesigned website and new packaging and labels. Brandlin Estate will begin introducing the new branding beginning with the May 2021 national release of the 2018 Brandlin Estate Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon.
The story of Brandlin Estate began in the 1870s, when the Brandlin family emigrated from Switzerland. Their alpine heritage led them to pioneer a homestead high on Mount Veeder, and soon the family was farming orchard fruit and running the local grain store and stagecoach. In 1926, Henry Brandlin added winegrowing to the list of family businesses when the first vines were planted at Brandlin Estate. In 1998, Henry’s son, Chester, entrusted the legacy of the 170-acre property to Two Estates Wine Collective (formerly known as Cuvaison Estate Wines) and its owners, the Schmidheiny family, who like the Brandlins hail from Switzerland and are a multigenerational family of winegrowers and vintners. As a result, Brandlin Estate has been guided by only two different families throughout its 150-year history. Building on this foundation, Brandlin Estate has earned renown as the source for some of Mount Veeder’s most acclaimed mountain-grown wines.
“As Brandlin Estate approaches the quarter century mark under our stewardship, we felt that this name change was an appropriate and meaningful way to honor our continuation of the Brandlin family’s legacy, while underscoring our commitment to making luxury estate-grown wines on Mount Veeder,” says Dan Zepponi, the president and CEO of Two Estates Wine Collective, which owns Brandlin Estate on Mount Veeder, along with Cuvaison winery in the Los Carneros AVA of Napa Valley. “We also embraced the name change as an opportunity to redesign our website, labels and packaging to underscore how unique and majestic Mount Veeder is while conveying the genuine sense of place that defines our mountain wines.”
The new Brandlin Estate website was designed for mobile-first optimization by acclaimed branding company Affinity Creative Group, and features an intuitive interface with an e-commerce system, as well as information about the history of Brandlin and its acclaimed estate vineyard. In addition to featuring the new Brandlin Estate name, the winery’s elegant new labels and packaging, also designed by Affinity, feature a contemporary reimagining of Brandlin’s iconic mountain logo. Artfully rendered as a geometric representation of Mount Veeder created using parallel lines that gracefully suggest mountain vine rows, the labels will roll out on the new vintages of all Brandlin Estate wines throughout 2021.
“Brandlin’s vineyard, perched atop Mount Veeder, is spectacular, and the key to the Brandlin winemaking story,” says Affinity’s Creative Director Cynthia Sterling. “The new mountain icon pays homage to the vision and dedication required to grow grapes on Mount Veeder’s challenging mountain terrain. Illustrated in a contemporary style, the new icon combines with classic typography to create a label that is fresh, but timeless.”
