Kim Crawford Set to Debut Slim Can Sauvignon Blanc

Posted on October 31, 2019

With the introduction of the 2019 vintage this fall, Kim Crawford will also debut America’s #1 selling Sauvignon Blanc in a slim can format.

The decision to introduce Kim Crawford’s iconic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in cans is a logical next step for the brand. Alternative formats (especially the canned wine category) continue to grow at an accelerated rate in the U.S. and by releasing an offering in the can format, Kim Crawford is providing consumers with a portable option to serve new usage occasions that increasingly fits with their on-the-go lifestyles. In short, they’re offering new ways to Make it Amazing with Kim Crawford.

I asked to share his thoughts on the launch of the new wine format, Kim Crawford winemaker, Anthony Walkenhorst, stated, “Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc is a fresh and bright wine with crisp acidity and tropical fruit flavors that complement the refreshing appeal of cans. This is why our Sauvignon Blanc drinks especially well out of cans and why this introduction is so exciting. We did a lot of quality testing on our side to make sure the wine remains consistent with what our consumers have come to expect from the brand, and I believe everyone is going to really enjoy this new, portable and fun way to sip on their favorite Sauvignon Blanc.”

The vintage dated Sauvignon Blanc comes in 250 ml cans that will be sold in a stylish two-pack for SRP $12.99/pack. This new can format is making its way into select markets now in very limited quantities, but will become more widely available to consumers beginning January 2020.
