Fiddlehead Cellars Debuts New Labels Celebrating Vineyard History and Success

LOMPOC, CA -- July 20, 2016 -- After 27 years of growing and producing award-winning Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc from Santa Barbara County and the Willamette Valley, Fiddlehead Cellars today unveiled a new, unifying image that speaks to the quality of its wines. The label refresh comes with great anticipation from this legacy producer just ahead of the “Drink 728 Party,” Fiddlehead’s biggest event of the year on July 28, 2016.

“This redesign includes a logo and image upgrade better representing the history and spirit of Fiddlehead wines as well as our continued commitment to fully represent our vineyard and the appellations that have grown up with us,” says Kathy Joseph, founder, farmer and winemaker at Fiddlehead Cellars. “With so many great wines available, labels can serve as a strong first impression to buyers. We are excited to present labels that will remind wine lovers of Fiddlehead’s history and evoke the same powerful connection they feel when drinking my wines.”

Working closely with Dave Schuemann, owner and creative principal at CF Napa, Fiddlehead’s new designs showcase the history of the label, including cleaner lines and graphics to echo the well-cultivated nature of the wines from a pioneering producer.

The Fiddlehead 2015 Pink Fiddle Rosé of Pinot Noir, released this month, is the first wine decorated with the new package. This classic rosé is estate grown from Fiddlehead’s sustainably (SIP) certified vineyard, Fiddlestix, in the Sta. RitaHills in Santa BarbaraCounty.

The redesign will help distinguish Fiddlestix Vineyard estate-grown labels, including Pink Fiddle, Seven Twenty Eight, Lollapalooza and 728 Bubbles from Fiddlehead’s other core wines. In addition to these estate-grown labels, Fiddlehead produces Oldsville, a single-vineyard Oregon Pinot Noir; as well as HappyCanyon; Goosebury and Hunnysuckle, a collection of Sauvignon Blanc’s grown in the esteemed Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA.

The new design will be phased in throughout Fiddlehead’s U.S. distribution as future bottlings are released. Fiddlehead’s specialty wines, including Grüner Veltliner, Burtie Baby Pinot Noir and the Pinot Noir Clonal Series, will continue to exhibit the specialty artist-series label designs.
