Consumer Market Access for Alternating Proprietors and Virtual Wineries

The biggest distinction between alternating proprietors and virtual wineries is their access to consumers. Because alternating proprietors have the same permits as standalone bricks-and-mortar wineries, they are allowed to have both an on-site and an off-site tasting room and they can sell wine to consumers in all but a very few U.S. markets. Conversely, the virtual winery is limited in its access to consumers.
