The Road Show of Italian Wine Begins in Canada
Today, "A TASTING OF WINES FROM ITALY", the roadshow of Italian wine in Canada. Now in its 23rd edition, the tour will stop like every year in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and end in Montréal. The initiative - organized by ICE Canada - has become over the years the trade appointment of reference for the Canadian trade and is today the most awaited and accredited event dedicated to Italian wine in Canada.

Windsor is getting a new wine festival in 2019
"We are officially announcing that in June 2019 we are going to be launching the very first wine festival within the city of Windsor proper," said Adriano Ciotoli, the co-owner of WindsorEats. The Shores of Erie International Wine Festival stopped operating in 2015, and since then, the Essex-Pelee Island wine region has been without an event to highlight the area as a wine destination. This new festival is hoping to fill that void.

Painted Rock Wins Winery of the Year Honours at InterVin International Wine Awards
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Painted Rock Estate Winery has won Winery of the Year honours at the 2018-19 InterVin International Wine Awards. It's the second time in five years that our estate was the top-performing producer at the respected international competition. This year's awards featured over 1,200 entries from 17 countries. Our 2015 Cabernet Franc, 2014 Cabernet Franc and 2014 Syrah were awarded gold medals and our 2014 Merlot, 2015 Malbec and 2015 Red Icon were awarded silver medals.

A cider-brewing craze has hit Metro Vancouver - spurred on by trends like gluten-free living and a love for fermented drinks like kombucha, according to those in the know. The fad has spread all the way to the University of British Columbia's Apple Festival this weekend, where, for the first time, growers will sell trees with apples well suited to making cider.

Historic Kelowna Packing House Now Produces Cider, Table Wine and Bubbles
In 2008, Jennifer Molgat feared that municipal inspectors would oppose a tasting room licence for her new The View Winery & Vineyard in Kelowna. She thought they might not like the look of the packing house where the winery and its sister producer Wards Cider are located. Built circa 1922, it is the oldest winery building in the Okanagan.

Constellation Brand CEO Steps Down
Rob Sands, the CEO of Corona maker Constellation Brands, is stepping down. He will hand over the reins to the company's president and chief operating officer, Bill Newlands, in March, the company said Wednesday. Once Newlands becomes CEO, Sands will become Constellation Brands' executive chair, replacing his brother Richard Sands. Richard Sands will become executive vice chair.
