Stomping grapes for charity in Langley
Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Venom, Spiderman and Captain Amnertica were sipping wine samples inside the main building at the Township 7 winery. They were among the many berry-splattered Halloween costumes at the grape stomp competition and charitable fudraiser at the Township 7 winery in Langley on Saturday. "The "umpteenth annual" stomp, as Township 7 manager Jason Ocenas put it. Ocenas said the weekend event at the winery located in the 21200 block of 16 Avenue was expected to raise more than $2,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of B.C.

New members inducted into Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame
Diane Daniels remembers David Coombes as a man with a lot of knowledge and skills. Coombes, who managed the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition (NSPE), Hants County Exhibition, and Atlantic Winter Fair, died earlier this year, but on Oct. 18 he was celebrated when he became one of the latest inductees into the Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame.

Canadian marijuana employees haven't cleared customs just yet
CBP announced a reversal (of sorts) of its original guidance document. In the new revision, CBP clarified, "A Canadian citizen working in or facilitating the proliferation of the legal marijuana industry in Canada, coming to the U.S. for reasons unrelated to the marijuana industry will generally be admissible to the U.S. however, if a traveler is found to be coming to the U.S. for reason related to the marijuana industry, they may be deemed inadmissible" (sic).

Niagara's Pearl Morissette Eatery Tops enRoute's Best New Restaurants List
Canada's best new restaurant sits on the second floor of a barn in Niagara wine country, according to Air Canada's enRoute magazine. This year's Top 10 list crowns The Restaurant at Pearl Morissette, just west of St. Catharines, Ont., for a prix-fixe menu featuring ingredients largely grown on or foraged from the surrounding land.
