Through April, in honour of BC Wine Month, the winery asked consumers to buy wine and support local. For every wine sold through any channel (wine stores, restaurants, online, and directly at the winery), $1 was donated to Nourish Cowichan. In addition, every dollar raised was matched by the winery proprietors, the Brunner Family.
British Columbia's 2020 vintage benefitted from the signature dry, hot, sunny weather which provided ideal conditions well into harvest. Although there may be a little less supply this year to go around, winemakers and viticulturists are saying the overall vintage is exceptional, characterized by intensely flavoured, balanced, fresh wines.

The Okanagan Valley is a summertime playground for wine lovers, golfers, watersport fanatics and visitors to the region's many lakeside resorts. The valley, which spans 155 miles, is home to 84 percent of British Columbia's vineyard plantings, which include everything from Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Syrah to Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling. In June 2022, the federal government will start charging Canadian winemakers an excise duty at the time they bottle their wine. The duty amounts to 50 cents a bottle and it's a tax that makers of wine from 100-per-cent Canadian grapes have not had to pay since 2006, an exemption the government put in place to support local producers.
