TGIC Importers, Inc. Announces Senior Management Promotions and Creation of Brand Management Team

Date: 03/01/12

TGIC Importers, Inc., a leading importer of fine wine and Wine Enthusiast’s 2010 Importer of the Year, announced a series of senior management promotions and new hires, effective April 1, 2012.

Three Division Managers have been promoted to Division Vice Presidents. Lawrence Klarfeld will assume the title of Division Vice President Western Region. Troy Thomas has been named Division Vice President Central Region. Jerry LaVecchia has been tapped for the new role of Division Vice President Eastern Region. Within this new structure, each will have Regional and Area Manager direct reports. All three Division Vice Presidents will report to Shawn Loggins, Vice President Sales and Marketing.

“I congratulate Lawrence, Troy and Jerry on their promotions. They have been instrumental in the continued growth and success of our company,” said Alex Guarachi, Founder and CEO. “I am excited to work with them in these new roles, and am certain that the entire TGIC team will prosper under their direction.”

In addition, TGIC has created a new Brand Management Team who will be responsible for positioning, strategy development and brand activation. Travis Arnesen, who has over seven years of marketing experience working with wine, spirits and other beverages, has been hired and will cover five key brands. Perry D’Agostino, previously TGIC’s Southeast Division Manager, has been promoted to Brand Manager and will also cover five key brands. Bryon Schreckengost, TGIC’s Marketing Manager, will round out the newly appointed Brand Management Team.

In order to capitalize on the success of TGIC’s current national chain business, an additional National Accounts Manager Off-Premise will be hired and based on the East Coast. Napa based Cindy Deutsch will continue in her role as National Accounts Manager Off-Premise.

“I believe this expansion will help us engage better not only with our brands, but with our distributors and trade partners,” added Guarachi. “This will make us a more efficient, strategic and proactive company as our brands continue to grow.”

TGIC Importers, Inc. was founded 26 years ago as a wine import company with only a single Chilean winery in its portfolio, with the mission to establish itself as a leading international producer, importer and marketer of the finest wines in the world. Today, TGIC proudly represents 18 of the most prestigious family owned wineries from around the world.
