Daryl Eklund has been appointed as sales manager for Demptos Glass, it was announced here today by David Schwandt, director of sales and marketing.

He will be directly responsible for the overall sales function, including supervision of all sales representatives handling territories in Napa, Sonoma, and central coast areas of California. Demptos Glass is a principal supplier of bottles and other forms of packaging to the wine industry. Founded in 1982, the company does business with hundreds of wineries located on the West Coast.

Prior to being appointed at Demptos Glass, he served in numerous executive capacities for Amorim Cork America, Napa CA, culminating in positions as general manager and director of sales and marketing. Before that he held a number of winery production positions in the Napa Valley including winery and vineyard manager for St. Andrews Vineyard, Winemaker for Stag’s Leap Winery and Conn Creek Winery and assistant winemaker for Trefethen Vineyards.

He has a bachelor’s of science degree in fermentation science from the University of Califonia, Davis, CA, where he also completed requirements for a bachelor’s degree in bacteriology. Eklund has also been active in the American Society of Enology and Viticulture, Napa Valley Vintners Association, Napa Valley Wine Technical Group and the Natural Cork Quality Council. He is a resident of Napa, CA.
