Charles Smith Wines Adds Director of Southeast Sales

Date: 12/13/13

Charles Smith announced that David Lawrence will join the company as chief financial officer and Lisa Mauer as director of southeast sales, both representing the family of brands, which includes K Vintners, Charles Smith Wines, ViNO and Secco Italian Bubbles. The addition of Mauer will bring the Charles Smith Wines sales force to six regional sales directors with Ron Janowczyk continuing as vice president of sales. David Lawrence, based in the Walla Walla headquarters, will oversee business operations and finances for the company.

Lisa Mauer became enamored with fine wine while in college, deciding to put her degree in business administration to work in a fun industry by joining Republic National Distributing in South Florida in 1982. After a subsequent move to Southern Wine and Spirits, Mauer moved to the supplier side of the wine business and enjoyed over 20 years working for the Michael Mondavi family, first at Robert Mondavi and then at Folio Fine Wine Partners, as Florida business manager and partner, where she helped to successfully launch 24 imported and domestic brands in six years. In 2011, Mauer took on a new challenge as Florida on-premise director of sales for Constellation Brands, with responsibilities for over 650,000 cases and coaching a team of five people.

Mauer was most recently serving as southeast region manager for Big Easy Blends prior to joining Charles Smith Wines. "In an ongoing commitment to growth and expansion, we’re very excited to announce the addition of Lisa to our team as the first Charles Smith Wines employee to be based in the Southeast,” said Ron Janowczyk, vice president of sales for Charles Smith Wines.

“Charles is truly a gifted artist, creating fantastic wines, each with a unique personality, in a luscious style, which can be enjoyed by consumers at all levels of wine experience. It is such an exciting time to represent Washington wines,” says Mauer. “It will be my passion and pleasure to ensure that consumers are able to discover and enjoy Charles’ wines throughout the Southeast,” she adds. Mauer will manage sales in the states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware and Alabama.
