Ken Powers Named VP Business Development at Cannonball Wine Company

To support growth in production and increase brand presence in targeted channels, Cannonball Wine Company (www.drinkcannonball.com) has enhanced their team with new key appointments in sales and winemaking: Ken Powers as vice president business development; Heidi Maul as assistant winemaker; and the Trellis Group (www.trelliswinegroup.com), as national account partner.

Cannonball co-founder and CEO Yoav Gilat is dedicated to maintaining a strategic eye on market placement while growing his brand. “Cannonball Wines’ philosophy has always been to grow our brand through key on-premise placements and independent retail. By investing in seasoned sales professionals and enhancing our winemaking team, we can increase production without compromising quality, and maintain our distribution strategy by developing key national restaurant accounts and new channels. I have worked directly with Ken Powers for the past five years while he helped to build Cannonball in New England as our distributor in Massachusetts. Ken’s years of management experience with one of the best distributors in the country and his relationships from his time in executive management at Hess Collection will give Cannonball the leverage necessary to open up new channels.”

Vice president of business development Ken Powers dives into Cannonball with more than 26 years of experience. He has held executive level roles at Carolina Wine Company (Massachusetts) and The Hess Collection, and most recently, was VP of sales for Classic Wine Imports, a fine wine division of Martignetti Companies. Based in New England, Powers drives Cannonball sales by focusing on emerging channels and opportunities.
