Vine Connections announced that Damon Levy will be filling the newly-created position of chief operating officer as of Sept. 9, 2013. Levy will be responsible for overseeing the leadership team for all areas of Vine Connections’ business.
Levy joined Vine Connections as its director of marketing in 2011, coming from Amazon.com where he spent two years as a senior buyer in their wine group and two years as a senior vendor manager in the Health & Beauty category. Prior experience included roles at Intuit in brand management and new product development. Levy earned his undergraduate degree at Brown University and his MBA at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
“Damon brings a wide range of skills and leadership abilities to the COO position, with an ability to learn quickly, look ahead, and add value in many different areas of the company. Those traits will serve him well in his new role and as the company continues to champion top quality wines and sake from Argentina, Chile, and Japan,” according to managing partner, Ed Lehrman.
Founded in 1999 by Ed Lehrman and Nick Ramkowsky, Vine Connections pioneered the first nationally imported portfolio of artisan wines from Argentina and soon after introduced the US to a premium selection of Japanese ginjo sake. The company represents the largest portfolio of boutique Argentine and Chilean wineries in the United States with over 100 wines and 31 brands produced by some of South America’s most highly regarded winemakers and viticulturists. Vine Connections also represents 14 of Japan’s finest ginjo sake breweries that produce some of the world’s best artisan chilled sake. Vine Connections is headquartered in Sausalito, California.
